NATURIST BEACHES

Alteirinhos Beach
Official naturist beach on the coast of Alentejo, between Milfontes and Odeceixe, south of Odemira. From Lisbon, take the A2 South Highway until Grândola, then towards Sines and just before turn left to Algarve. Go to Cercal, then pass Milfontes heading South until you reach Zambujeira do Mar. There, turn left (South), cross a little river that divides Zambujeira and drive up a hard road, where you'll find, less than a mile further, a right turn that leads to a platform above the cliff. Watch your way down, it can be slippery. You'll find a wooden stairway and Alteirinhos beach, to its left.

The beach has very clean sand and many rock formations that separate it from the textile beach of Zambujeira.
Further South, there is a small beach reachable only on low tide, attended exclusively by naturists.

You can reach this little and beautiful beach South of Alteirinhos if you go between the rocks on low tide, or over the cliff, where there are small paths that also lead to it. Here, you'll only find naturists. This is a favourite spot for couples in love, as it is cosy and private, with small caves and hide-outs among the rocks.
